Funeral services for Christine A. “Chris” Hederstedt, age 63, of Abilene, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Abilene Bible Baptist Church in Abilene with Reverend Carson Johnson officiating. Mrs. Hederstedt passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the home in Abilene.

She was born April 14, 1954 in East Lansing, Michigan the daughter of Fred and Lois (Stelson) Trump. Chris graduated from Salina Central High School and attended Ft. Hays State University.

Chris was a homemaker and taught arts and history at the Abilene Bible Church School for the 4th – 6th grades. She enjoyed canning and cooking and was involved with 4-H for over 15 years, but her greatest love was her family especially her grandchildren.

On June 9, 1973 Chris was united in marriage to Randal “Randy” Hederstedt in Salina. He survives of the home. Also surviving are her daughters Laura and her husband Josh Phelps of Abilene, Emily and her husband Sam Reddy of Abilene, Beth and her husband Chris Ade of Solomon; brothers Eric and his wife Terri Trump of Emporia, Tim and his wife Melanie Trump of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Sara Erickson and husband Jerry of Wichita; thirteen grandchildren Caleb, Joel, Olivia, Katie, and Roy Phelps; Isaac, Titus, Haley, Peter, Ellie, and Ethan Reddy; and Timothy, Zoe Ade. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Chris’s final resting place will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Salina. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abilene Bible Baptist Church Building Fund for the Kitchen and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
